RED JANUARY 2019

Throughout the month of January, a large group of Harriers have been actively supporting Red January, raising money and awareness for Mind, the mental health charity, a community initiative that encourages you to support your mental health by doing something active every single day. It has been amazing to see the amount of effort and determination that our athletes have been putting into this every single day by running, walking, swimming, working out, taking part in exercise classes, canicross running,  home workouts - a lot of time, effort, commitment and energy - well done everybody, just brilliant! We all have our personal challenges and to highlight this cause is very important. Participation in regular physical activity can increase our self-esteem and can reduce stress and anxiety. It also plays a role in preventing the development of mental health problems and in improving the quality of life of people experiencing mental health problems, therefore, running is excellent for both our physical and mental health, the more we can get this message out there and get others joining in the better!
