EAST COAST 10K
A hoard of 31 Harriers gathered amongst 898 runners along Great Yarmouth seafront for the annual 10K event, hosted by the brilliant Great Yarmouth Road Runners and their fabulous marshals! This was the final race of the 2019 Sportlink Grand Prix Series and with a slightly different course this year due to building work along the seafront, this meant that it was the first time that the race finished on the Wellesley Road Athletics Track. The start was a little manic and congested but once runners started to spread out we could settle into a decent pace - with Andy finishing in 30th position, out of 898 runners thatβs some achievement, well done Andy π! It was a long 2 lap route with a head wind along the sea front wall, and the added bonus of a group of singers at the turning point, singing songs such as βIβm Still Standingβ (just!), βKeep On Runningβ and βChariots Of Fireβ π€, towards the finish we had the added out and back section and then jumped onto the lovely springy athletics track for the final push, giving runners that perfect sprint finish ππΌββοΈππ»ββοΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ- excellent work everyone, some excellent times, first 10K races, first races, brilliant PBβs and a great turnout, well done everyone πππ!!

NELSON KNEE KNOBBLER - SEA PALLING

5th Oct - Nelson Knee Knobbler
This was the last in the 2019 Nelson Knee Knobbler events hosted by Dunerunner and itβs a tough one! The race starts at the bottom on a steep slope, you then run down the other side (or as in the case of the canicross runners - get dragged down the slope by the very enthusiastic canines, rearing to go!) and onto the beach. You run along the edges of the beach which at that time is quite hard compacted sand before turning and running back along, up and down the soft, sandy dunes - running with a dog at this point is a great advantage!! This is a great event and a great challenge - well done canicross crew .
